It was our 8th Anniversary, and my sister-in-law volunteered to babysit Christopher so Eric and I could go out. It was the first time we'd left him alone in the 6 months since he'd been born. It was a Big Night Out for us, but it was a Wonderful time for Christopher. He got to spend time with his cousins.

On 7/7/7 Chris was learning how to climb. He was walking all over the couch and getting in trouble, yelling Doh at us instead of No! and when we would yell at him to Sit Down, he would yell Dit Dow! And do it...for about 3 seconds, and start back up again. Feisty wee one. Not much has changed.

By 8/8/8 I was just a little bit pregnant with Sam, we had just found out. And feeling rather grody, and that was also the same summer that we spent with Chris and I alternatively puking, him from his feeding tube, and me from Sam sympathetically. Good times.
I remember that backpack, he had to wear it most of the time, because his feeds had to go for an hour. Still he managed to play hard in it.
And most importantly, he was allowed to swim! We didn't lost that all summer, just the first half. He was thrilled to be able to swim. I was just thrilled he was happy. It was a rough summer.

By September of 2009, Sam was here with us, and Chris was in Developmental Preschool 3 days a week and regular preschool the other 2 days that fall. Luckily, both of those were in mornings, so Sam and I could chillax with each other, have quality time and all that.
Sam who was 5 months old and beginning to think...like think of ways how to get out of his swing. He's my little schemer this one.

Now this is a Great one! A glimpse into the insanity of our lives that year. Apparently, I had taken the boys over to visit Daddy at the new house, on our way to a play date.
On the way home, we stopped off at my favorite spot at Eagle Creek Park for a bitty photo shoot.
I'm glad I took a moment to stop.
Self portrait on a fall day.
Sam - 1 1/2
And Chris almost 5
Sam's eyes were kind of green that day, just beginning to become the pretty shades of hazel they are now.
Aren't they precious?!
I love that smile.
Playing in the leaves.
Little, but Big.
They grow too fast.
11/11/11
This was my friend Amy P's birthday, and she had come to town, having moved to Camp Tecumseh some 6 months before, for the wedding of some friends of ours from Butler. The family had come down to stay the night that Friday night, and the kids had gotten all pajamafied and were waiting for story time.
She also announced to me that she was expecting #4 that weekend. She had been feeling so crummy, but still managed to be an amazing Chick of Honor to our friend Jill. That was a Great weekend!
And today 12/12/12
Chris woke up this morning in a great mood, laughing and telling me about how today is 12/12/12, the last one we are likely to see in our lifetimes. I hope I remember his beautiful laugh, and morning snuggles.
It was a good day, because we got to see Sam at his preschool Christmas program. More pictures and stuff to come.
Where were you? What were you doing? Were those special days?
They have been for me, just in looking back, those days have become special again.
