So we did. And we found the apples were indeed ripe and beckoning. It was the perfect day for it.

Both boys were pretty thrilled to go picking!

And though Chris thought climbing apple trees was Great Fun, Sam disagreed.

The boys weren't the only ones to get in a tree. We wanted gala apples, which were pretty picked over, except higher up in the branches. Yup, you know it. I climbed up into the tree myself. 35 years old and I can still climb trees!

After picking 3/4 bushel of apples for each family, we decided to let the kids play a bit, and stop for snacks before heading out.

Sam and I share an Apple Cider Slush, Oh My Word! And the boys and I split fried biscuits and homemade apple butter, also Not Too Shabby!
