So our bin people messed up sending us a double dose of fruits and veggies last week leaving us a boatload. Maybe I'm overcome with a great love of cooking in our new kitchen but I decided to "put up some corn". I just opted to freeze it instead of canning. I'd have to have a lot more than the freedom of a Saturday morning for that to work.
I've never tried it before. But there is something supremely therapeutic about sitting on my back porch stoop and shucking corn, thinking of all the ma's that have done this before me. And you know, fresh Indiana sweet corn is down right pretty.
Even prettier cooking.
And even prettier when it's ready for eating.
