Snow!

36/365

Our garden Butterfly has been attacked by Snow!

At last! After much ADO, and I mean I've heard 1 1/2 hour waits in line at the grocery store, and people freaking out All Week, we finally got the dreaded snow we've been waiting all week for. The Snow is here! It started about 10, and is still going, we've got about 4-5 inches already. It looks really lovely outside right now. And with my family home, and we have medicine and groceries...and heat and electricity, I wouldn't mind camping out here for a while. However, we have many festive things going on this weekend...hope they don't all get cancelled.

Stuck

35/365
Sam is a Pip! He got stuck under the rocker this morning, he was just griping, nothing I hadn't heard before. I turned and looked and saw his leg, looking like it was broken under the rocker and him looking at me with this look of Frustration. It took me a second to realize his leg wasn't in the jammies. It was up under his chest, the leg of the jammies had caught on the rocker, and he had crawled around the back so it was being bent in multiple directions. I ran for the camera, and when I returned, he sunk his head down in degeneration. Such is our day. Oh the life, the trauma. He overreacts. He's going to be our Drama King. But boy it seems like lately it's been one thing after another and it just builds, and Sam isn't the only one around here that just wants to hand our heads in surrendure. But all of us got pretty lucky tonite, the boys got to hang out and play with Daddy, watching TV and getting tickled, and Mommy got to go to Applebee's with girlfriends for a Much Needed Mom's Night Out.

Wordless Wednesday

Yogurt Melts

34/365

We tried a little something new today.

Gerber's Peach Yogurt Melts.
Peachy. Yogurty. Melty. Warm. Warm yogurt is just weird. To me, that is.

Even Chris tried them. Tried them and LIKED Them. A lot. He ate 1/4 of the bag, cleaned his plate from lunch for more.

Of course, Sam the Snack King loved them most of all. He was smack talking, screeching, and flapping his little 'more' hand if I didn't keep a steady stream of them going.

What a great relief to find a snack that Both my boys like, even if it weirds me out.

Beasty Blessings

33/365

Like this face? Pretty much sums up the day.

It's been a rough day. But a friend reminded me that even that there are people out there Constantly Praying for a rough day like mine.
I'm sleep deprived, but I am sleep deprived in my nice warm bed, with a quite effective roof over my head in my nice warm house. And I can have coffee whenever I want to keep me awake (and do so) because my pantry is Full. It was cold outside today, but it was a balmy 30, and some don't have a nice heated car, or any car to crawl into when we're done at the playground (or don't even get to play at a playground). My son threw rocks in a friend's face which put a quick ending to our playground time...some don't have as forgiving friends like we do. I'm pretty grateful for mine (and Chris's)! My children have been in rare form today (although lately it hasn't seemed so rare) both being rather beastly, naptime for each only coincided for 20 minutes because they were alternatively calling out. But I am very blessed to have such beastly children that crawl all over me screaming.
Towards the end of my evening, how Blessed I was to literally be laying on the floor with one crawling on me and one leaping into my arms, all of us wiggling, tickling, giggling and laughing. It was one of those Freeze Frame moments, that I would want to remember when I'm old. It's easier to forget the laundry list of icky things that happen when you have one of those blindingly happy moments. That moment probably only lasted about 2 seconds, but that 2 seconds was the best part of my day, and reminds me what its all about. I prayed for my boys, and God has richly blessed me with them.
And BOY am I Thankful that He is with me when the times get rough.

Wanted: Buzz Lightyear

32/365

Buzz Lightyear: Super Hero, Space Ranger, known to Karate Chop Block Walls in a single chop, and Friend.

If you find Buzz, please let us know.

Buzz was last seen chopping down block walls on the coffee table with his boy Christopher.

Cleanup was conducted before naptime, after which it was noticed Buzz went missing. Children's rooms have been searched. Suspected he went to find his friend Woody, though Woody has never lived here.

Christopher seems to think Buzz is lost in the wall, he thought he heard him earlier...and had an imaginary conversation with the wall in his room.

I hope we find him soon.

"The Wall" is a common theme today. We've been chopping down block walls, and building new ones, and Buzz may have disappeared in ours. But most importantly, today one of Chris's classmates and friends crossed over the Great Wall in China and is picking up his new adopted baby brother! Hooray for answered prayers on the other side of that Wall!

***UPDATE***
"Buzz Lightlayer" is Found! High Noon the next day, 24 hours later, we return from picking up Chris from preschool to find Buzz near the rocking chair on the living room floor. We checked there! SERIOUSLY, we have no idea where he was hiding. I pumped near that area while Chris was in school, but did not see Buzz, all of a sudden Poof! he's there. Very Strange...and yet, Very Toy Story.
