Joy of Love, Day 15

Today's assignment was Kiss. Well, around here, nothing says Love like a Puppy Kiss. Of course, our "puppy" is now 12, but we still enjoy the occasional smooch. Though not as much as some of our friends do. ;)

And Fina isn't the only one that loves baby breath.

Happy Valentine's Day

Yesterday was a Wonderful Valentine's Day for us. We got Daddy home for Three Whole Meals in one day, since he had to work from home because his car wasn't working and was still in the shop. We had a great relaxing morning together, which was Bonus Quality time since we thought Eric was going to have to go to work all day, and a meeting in the evening. But instead we got to be with each other, and that's the Best kind of Valentine's Day.

Here's our Top 10 photos, minus the happy hands picture I already posted.

1. Brunch. In honor of V-day, I made Pink Hot Mochas (which was just regular cocoa mix, instant coffee, and red food coloring in my Cocoa-Latte maker) and heart shaped honey flakey biscuits. In our family it's a holiday if there are Honey Flakey biscuits.

2. Sam agrees that Biscuits are the Best!

3. Chris gives us a Hug. He "LOVES YOU THIS MUCH!"

4. Daddy and Chris opened his card, which Chris loves the peanuts gang, and he thought saying Blueberry Bulldog Beer was pretty funny too.

5. Since Daddy was home, Chris stayed home watching cartoons (his idea of Good Times) while Sam and I got a little one on one time at the Library. We crashed their Valentine's Day program, so Sam got to get Crafty making his own Valentine, with a glue stick, and glittery rhinestones, and Paint Pens.

6. Sam LOVES the paint pens. He really enjoys getting artsy, and I enjoyed just letting him.

7. Nothing says Happy Valentine's Day like a small child with a heart shaped cherry lollipop and candy drool dripping down their chin.

8. How can I resist this!?! Lollipop kiddie kisses are my new favorites, even exceeding Peanut Butter kiddie kisses.

9. Sam and Chris survey their Haul.

10. The boys almost come to words, 'discussing' custody of chocolates and lollipops.

What a Haul, What a Day! How Blessed I am, I got to spend the day with my three special Valentines!

Joy of Love, Day 14

Today's assignment was Wedding Jewelry. Well, golly, I just did that last week! So, I pulled up a few pics from summer 2008, when Eric and were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We exchanged new platinum bands, something simple that didn't catch on kids, or blankets or diapers. And we went to Butler, the site where he proposed to me almost 14 years before.

These are our new bands on the bench where I sat, and Eric knelt in the mud when he told me "Two Years, two years is not enough. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" And through chattering teeth I told him Yes!

Aren't we sweet, with our little hands. It's hard to do a self portrait on your hands.

Even harder to get a picture Today of all of our hands. You know, moving targets and all that. But this makes me so happy.

All my Valentines.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Joy of Love, Day 13

Today's Joy of Love theme was Routines. I would've captured the boys having breakfast, in fact I tried, but Chris was just too fast at eating his waffle. Fina on the other hand, well, she did, what she always does, and the sun was shining right on her, making her look so pretty. Even her little old flews, and her gray hairs were shining in the sun.

Boxer routines. Begging for Breakfast.

Subtle as a train wreck.

Poor Fina, she didn't get any waffles.

Joy of Love, Day 12

Today's assignment through Joy of Love was Eyes. And today, We all met my Dad for lunch down in their neck of the woods, and the kids had a great time running themselves rampant. And while the big kids were chasing each other all over Oma and Opa's house, I got a great opportunity to Practice on a little someone besides my sweetboys (not that I ever tire of that, but it was a little refreshing change), my beautiful 8 month old niece Charlie. She has some Gorgeous Baby Blues!

See that beautiful face! We just gotta squeeze it!

Chunka Chunka Cheeks, what eyes?

Joy of Love, Day 11

Today's assignment was Dreams.

Last night, as I was tucking Chris and after our prayers, he says, I don't want to have a Bad Dream. I say, well, we just Prayed, and God is always with you, so He will keep you safe. So it won't be a problem. What would you Like to dream about?

He said, What are you going to dream about? I thought for a second. I think I'd like to go to the beach with my healthy boys, and dip our toes in the sand, and sit in the nice warm sun. The temp rose today to 30, it's almost downright balmy outside, but I still have visions of beach vacations dancing in my head.

When I asked him, What are you going to dream about? He told me, "I'm going to be Buzz Lightyear, and fly through Space, with my wings!" That's a Great Dream.

Today, however, Shaylee had another dream. Chris is her 'Best friend' (followed of course, by Sam and Me! - I'm so honored :) ) and her Valentine's Dream was to dance with Chris. Her mom put on the music, Strawberry Shortcake "Strawber-ella and Prince Huckleberry" and Shay started to lose it entirely when Chris wouldn't dance. Chris and I had to have a heart to heart, after which Chris learned a little something.

When a Pretty girl asks you to dance, you Always say Yes.

Joy of Love, Day 10

Spaces They Love.

A little experimentation today while Sam slept on my manual setting, toggling between focal points, something new and fun for me.
Nothing says naptime like a sweetboy snuggled in his crib. I love how he sleeps all cuddled up with his head banging the top of the crib, his hair out peeking out of the slats, and the blanket I made for him all wadded up around him. Only toes were peeping out. And he's probably the only almost 2 year old that still allows his Classic Pooh Mobile still in his crib. He has only tried to play with it once, and he was so upset that 'the boys' fell down, he hasn't tried since. He's content to just watch them spin, I usually just smack them around, a slight spin and sway, and hit his aquarium, and he's happy to go to sleep.
