Steppin' out with my baby

99/365

I know, I've said that before.  But today was different.  After being sick with strep for the last few days, I decided I had to go to the store today, because we're out of everything.   And since I only had Jake, I had to make hay while the sun shined!
So, I dressed up my sweetboy, and we dropped Sam off at school and hit the road to run some errands.

A couple friends at Sam's preschool commented this morning that he was looking like a particularly big boy today.  Well, that's true.  Stripes make his legs look long.  I wish they made me look long, I just look like a big fat bumblebee.  I found this 9-12 month outfit on the floor of his closet yesterday, when I was pulling out the next bin, the 18 month one, (yipes).  Luckily, it doesn't have feet, this child does not have 9 month feet.  He's got 1 year feet. Which brings me to the other reason he looks big is because I put him in shoes.

He's wearing shoes for the first time.
They are the same pair that were Chris and Sam's first pair of shoes.
Honestly, neither boy wore them long enough to really wear them down.

So, here's the video snippet of Jacob's first walking in shoes...well, cruising in shoes anyway.  I thought it looked like Jake thought he'd stepped in/on something when he walked for the first time and kept stepping funny when he was cruising.

After a little shopping, we took our shoes off and hung out at Kathleen's to watch a Hallmark movie, and chill out.  Jake now enjoys playing with the outside of the saucer instead of in, and John John is much more excited to be inside the saucy now.  Ah, what a difference a few months makes, just about as big a difference as a few days on antibiotics.  ;) How fast things change, and how much they stay the same.
