Arrived

158/365

We arrived! Coming to you now from North Tonawanda, NY just outside Buffalo, at the home of my Grandma Pat (my Stepmom's mom). I've been having a bit of trouble with the internet so uploading pictures may come later.

We began the day yesterday playing at the water park, and when Sam started to fall asleep on my shoulder in the family whirlpool, we took that as a sign to get moving. However, we spotted a Chick Fil-A on our way out of town...where we HAD to have lunch.

Our trip got underway, though Sam only napped 20 minutes and fussed the rest of the way. Luckily, we were only 2 hours away. Then we arrived, loved on and were loved on by Grandma. And it was Good.

After unloading the car, we put together a list of supplies necessary at the store: Budwey's. Chris asked Grandma as we left if she loved "Buttwaste." There was snorting.

For dinner we began our mission of crossing off Western NY's MUST HAVE Foods by eating at Anderson's for 'beef on weck'. Weck is short for kemmelweck; a hard roll dusted in salt and caraway seeds. This place is best known for their roast beef sanwiches and frozen custard. Of course we had both.

Sam was especially fond of the custard, he got covered in it, and consequently had more of that than dinner, even though bread and meat are his favorite things, we don't think he liked the salt on the bread...too bad more for us.. And Chris has just been ecstatic to finally be at Grandma's house. He wants to climb all over her and watch her Big TV. First thing he asked her was why she was skinny? Then he asked if she wanted to watch cartoons with him on her Big TV. And so they did. It's been so relaxing to just hang out here.
